For many women, her self-confidence is associated with her breasts, whether you like it or not. Due to this connection, several women all over the world are trying to improve the size of their bust so that they would become more appealing. Today there is a surfeit of both conventional and non-conventional methods which aim to bring about it.
Breast Augmentation Surgery
Out of all the conventional methods available today, breast enlargement surgery is the most common. It is biologically called as breast augmentation surgery or augmentation mammoplasty. This is a simple surgical process in which a layer of foreign material is inserted into the breast, just above the pectoral muscle. Augmentation is one of the quickest and surest ways of increasing bust size, though it is not the safest.
The padding material earlier used was silicone gel. However, many governments have now banned silicone gel as an implant material, as it has been proven to cause cancer in some individuals. Today saline-filled transplants are widely used and they are considered much safer.
These transplants also contain a silicone shell, but they are filled with a sterile saline solution.
The insertion of the implant is done by creating an insertion in the breast. The most common place is under the breast just where the crease is located. This is the most inconspicuous position. Another place to make incision is under the areola. A third place can be under the armpit. Once the incision is made, the surgeon inserts the implant into a pocket created within the breast. Saline-filled transplants require smaller pockets as they are more liquid than pure silicone transplants.
Breast implant surgery today is a very common surgical procedure. It is performed under anesthesia and the patient is ready to resume work within a week. The surgery does not hinder other physiological functions of the woman, especially those centered on pregnancy such as lactation. There is also no medical evidence to show that augmentation mammoplasty can cause breast cancer.
